The tour starts in Piazza di Spagna, one of Rome’s most widely known places, where you can see the theatrical Spanish Steps of Trinità dei Monti and Bernini’s Barcaccia Fountain.

Piazza di Spagna has represented the centre of the cultural and artistic life of the city for centuries and today is a meeting place for both Romans and tourists thanks to its position at the heart of Rome’s main shopping area. It has been used in several movies, such as Roman Holidays, and also as a location for important fashion shows. Continuing through the typically narrow streets you arrive at the magnificent Trevi Fountain, also known for the popular tradition of throwing a coin into the water to ensure you come back to the Eternal City.

The next stop is the Piazza della Rotonda (commonly called Pantheon Square) which houses the Pantheon, one of the most impressive and prestigious monuments of Imperial Rome, which now contains the tombs of Raphael and the first two kings of Italy. Michelangelo himself considered this a work of art by angels and not by men.

The tour ends in Piazza Navona with its stately palaces and churches and three splendid fountains, of which the Fountain of the Four Rivers in the centre is one of Bernini’s most famous works. In the past the square was animated by markets, feasts, and processions, and still today you can find stalls, and character and street artists, especially at Christmas time.
